I am an interdisciplinary fisheries scientist with a Ph.D in Resource and Environmental Management (SFU, Fisheries), an M.Sc. in Fisheries Oceanography (UBC), and over 15 years of consulting experience working primarily on west coast fisheries. My current project with the CFRN is focused on evaluating the quality of information used to close areas to protect sensitive benthic habitat. This work finishes this fall, after which I will begin working on a project with P1.1. This project will synthesize the "big themes" in the network (MSE, Adaptive Management, and interdisciplinary approaches to sustainable fisheries) in order to evaluate their prospects for implementation in Canadian fisheries management.
